Staff Spotlight: The Project Team – The Engine Behind the Impact

When people see CBZ, they normally see the football first: clips, goals, team talks.

But behind every session and every event is a project team trying to hold everything together.

At the heart of that is the project management team.

Simone leads on project management for Casual Ballerz London – coordinating events, liaising with partners, making sure forms are filled, venues are booked, and the madness has some kind of order. She’s the one tightening the bolts when the organisation wants to sprint.

Her role – and the role of the project team – is crucial, especially now. As we aim for multi-year funding and full-time roles, project coordination and consistency are the difference between:

• Just having “good ideas”

• And actually delivering good outcomes for young people

Simone and the team help us:

• Plan end-of-year events like the CBZ Hall of Impact

• Communicate between departments (delivery, physio, media, funding)

• Track what’s happening week to week so nothing gets lost

• Give young volunteers structure and support so they don’t burn out

They’re not just administrators – they’re architects of the experience.

We want more people to see that impact work isn’t just about who’s on the pitch. It’s the WhatsApp messages at 11pm, the Google Docs, the funding deadlines, the venue confirmations, the “are you okay?” voice notes to staff.
